Hear Marcia’s God Story

More from Minnesota today as we chat with author and professional speaker, Marcia Malzahn. Her story is profound, exciting, faith-filled and powerful – and told in her book, The Fire Within: connecting your gifts with your calling.

Marcia was born in Nicaragua but when war broke out, their family tried to flee on a Red Cross cargo plane to the Dominican Republic. However, there wasn’t enough room for all of them, so her dad stayed behind. No other airplanes were coming into or out of the country at the time but the same day, one plane miraculously came with a single seat left for her dad to take. Shortly after they were reunited in the Dominican Republic, Hurricane David came and devastated the country but they survived without injury. Over the next seven years, Marcia’s family met a Christian couple from Minnesota who offered to help their family move one at a time to the United States.

From an immigrant working as a teller at a local bank to an executive in finance, Marcia’s story is one you won’t want to miss!

Millennials Matter

In today’s show we learned a TON about a great new book, Millennials Matter, by way of the author herself, Danita Bye! Danita gives us her take on why this generation is important and why she is passionate about fostering them in the workplace and the Church.

Danita wanted to do foreign medical missions, but God had other plans. He radically called her to marketplace missions and He hasn’t released her yet. Tune in for an insightful and inspired convo about how Millennials Matter and investing in the up and coming leaders.

Feedback Vs Feed-Forward

Great stuff from author, Danita Bye, who joined us to talk about her latest book – Millennials Matter – which breaks down how that generation operates, and how we can best operate with that generation.

A recent study said that 72% of Millennials want regular feedback… but Danita believes that what most Millennials actually want is feed-forward. In other words, they aren’t interested in critiquing how they did in the past, but in getting input on how they can move into action effectively in the future. This revolutionary way of providing performance reviews for employees is something that we think any generation can benefit from!

Remember, part of being a good steward of your business is discipling and building up the next generation leaders and workers.
