“You can’t pay God back with your good deeds, you can’t scam the heavenly ledger, and you sure can’t escape the death sentence delivered. It’s hopeless. But then Jesus rescued us! He said, “I will pay the sin debt for you; you just need to give your old life to me in exchange for a new one that comes without a death sentence.”

He wants to use you as a lamp in the darkness to bring light and encouragement to all those around you who don’t know him yet – to those who are stuck in isolation and hopelessness. So, as you begin to go back out into the wide world, stop and look around you. Who doesn’t know Jesus yet? What can you do to bring hope, light, love, and healing to them today?
Read MoreWork-life balance is one of the most talked-about subjects among professionals in the workforce today. A quick google search of the term will pull up thousands of articles on tips to achieve this blissful, elusive state of being from the likes of Forbes, Harvard Business Review, Time, Mayo Clinic, and many, many more. However, I can't help but think the conversation about work-life balance is a bit funny.
We have had so many guests on iWork4Him that come to discuss work-life balance and espouse its significance to our health and well-being. But ironically, there is only one thing that all of them have agreed on: A perfect work-life balance is, frankly, unachievable.
But if that is true, how do we prevent our job from taking over and driving a wedge into our relationships?
Read MoreIt's the end of the world as we know it.
When Jesus was killed on the Cross, likely the disciples thought these very words, in Hebrew, of course.
When Jesus rose from the dead, they likely thought these words again but for a different reason.
In 300 ad, when Constantine adopted Christianity as the religion of choice for the Roman empire, likely the disciples of Jesus thought these same words – It's the end of the world as we know it.
But what about today? Is the world ending? Yes. This week? This month? This year? Only our Father knows.
Read MoreHappy New Year! Most of us will not mourn the passing of 2020. It was a year of fear and strife. It was a year of lost freedoms and lost loved ones. It was a year we may want to forget but will likely remember forever. When the year began, remember how many people said 2020 would be the year of 20/20 Vision & Clarity? That the number of the year: 2020 represented so much hope and promise. Did that play out? I think it did, just not the way we expected.
In 2020 the U.S. Culture deemed the church non-essential. We saw church doors closed on penalty of a fine. The church was extricated from its buildings. We saw this as a problem, but God can use it for good. Removing the 4-walls from the church forced the church to be everywhere. Our communities are hurting and hopeless, and the church is the messenger of healing and hope.
So, where is the clarity for 2020?
Read MoreIt always amazes me how two people can experience the same situation and see things so differently. Take, for instance, the recent weather we had in Florida. I was grateful for the rain to fill our pond, but I know others were upset because the storm interfered with their outdoor plans. That same storm can improve business for the screen repair company and grocery stores while hurting business for the landscaper or outdoor sporting event.
We have a choice to make about our perspective for 2020. We can wish it away so we can start 2021, OR we can use the opportunity for change to take us from who we are to who God can use more effectively.
