Beyond Sunday - Living in Forgiveness - How it Impacts Our Work
My most recent blogs have touched on:
1) Forgiveness of others
2) Forgiveness of ourselves
3) Forgiveness of our enemies.
The unasked question might be -
“Jim, what does this have to do with our work?”
Well, I am glad you asked.
Living in Forgiveness changes everything. While I am writing this blog I am being reminded that I need to live what I preach/teach. I have someone that I need to forgive but it is going to take a meeting.
Just praying about it isn’t giving me freedom.
If you live in forgiveness, you live in freedom. If you live in Freedom, the Lord can use you to do great things. Forgiveness was at the forefront of Jesus’ earthly platform, what a great example for each of us.
The people you work with…yeah they are going to hurt you one day. One day you will be the victim of gossip or some odd story. You will have two choices.
Get ticked or forgive.
Now sometimes, you may have to confront the person in order to forgive. If people know that you are a Christ Follower, they will be watching your response and your actions. This one response can set the tone for the rest of your time in that workplace. If you blow it, get mad, or hold a grudge, your witness will be compromised. It will then take much more effort to build back up your witness.
People are looking for REAL TRUTH.
You are their window to see REAL TRUTH in action. Living in forgiveness will transform how people look at you and it will attract people to you when they are hurting. This will be an open door to share how Jesus rescued you.
It’s all about forgiveness. Be quick to forgive!
