Tired of Sweating?

Tired of sweating?  I am. Living in Florida can be miserable in the summer months, and this year it just doesn’t seem to be cooling down yet. You sweat just thinking about moving. Anytime you really want to do something physical, you know that it will be followed by a shower or a dip in the pool. Well, maybe not the pool because the water is still 92 degrees. You could use the hose but the 85 degree water in the hose might burn your skin!  Okay, enough about sweating and heat.

Why all this talk about sweating?

Are you tired of toiling each day, wondering if your labors are going to produce anything?  Are you tired of walking along, feeling like the burdens of the world are your responsibility?  Are you tired of sweating mentally in your tasks when others just seem to skate along?  What is the difference?  Maybe the better question is “What do I do about this?”

Jesus said in John 10:10 -

The enemy comes to steal, kill and destroy, but I have come so that you might have life and live it to its fullest

Are you living life to its fullest or do you relate to the first part of the verse and feel like the enemy is killing you softly with his song?

Many of us are our own worst enemies.  We stay busy, so busy that we allow ourselves to be robbed of life.

Robbed of peace and a sustainable pace of life.

When was the last time you did nothing?  Have you ever stayed quiet and listened for the Lord speak to you about your schedule?

Stop sweating and toiling and being burdened with the nonsense of this world.

Stop copying the behaviors and customs of this world and let God transform you, by changing the way you think - Romans 12:2

Sweating on  the outside but at peace on the inside.  Jim
