There are many opinions about this question:

“Does God speak to us in dreams?”

 Opinions aside, it is a biblical fact that God used dreams to reveal His plans, confirm a plan/covenant or to speak truth into someone.  Let me tell you what God does in my dreams.  About once a month I have a dream about someone that I have not thought about in a long while.  When I wake up I often can’t remember the dream details but I remember the person it revolved around.  

I have learned that this dream is a prompting for me to pray for that person and then reach out to him or her.  

I usually say something like... “I had a dream about you the other day. It prompted me to pray for you. Is everything okay ? How should I be praying for you?”  100% of the time, that person needed a call from me because they were in a tough spot.   

How does God prompt you to pray for others? Maybe that dream is speaking to you…

Acts 2:17 ESV: 

And in the last days it shall be, God declares, that I will pour out my Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and your daughters shall prophesy, and your young men shall see visions, and your old men shall dream dreams
